Welcome
We’ve had some new additions to this years festival and tickets are on sale and ready for you to buy as we speak! Star of Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy and a million womens fantasies, Paddy McGuinness will be appearing at the Opera House on Saturday 25th October as part of his “Paddy McGuinnes Plus You! Live” tour, which will see a local hopeful take to the stage in support of Paddy.

On the Friday night before, 24th October sees local lad and Key 103 star, Justin Moorhouse take to the Opera House with his “Ever Decreasing Social Circle” show which will see Justin decide which five friends he really needs. The rest can do one it seems. Last seen gallivanting about with Ken Loach filming his Eric Cantona film, catch him before his friend list is just made up of celebs.
Richard Herring makes his annual return to MCF and the Frog and Bucket on Sunday 19th October, with his latest show “The Headmasters Son”, where Richard will relive his childhood fears and embarrassments from being the smart, swotty son of the school Headteacher. Poor boy.
Also at the Frog, the quiet and reserved and last years if.comedy award winner Brendon Burns brings his “F**K You I'm Brendon F**King Burns (Again)” show on Sunday 19th October. With plenty to keep the Daily Mail in stories for a good eighteen months, this is not a show for the easily offended. Sounds great!
Fellow Australian, Jim Jeffries and his “Hammered” show come to the Comedy Store, Monday 20th October. Jim is fresh from calling Kelly Osbourne names at the American NME awards and is ready to bring his riotous new show to Manchester for the first time.
Russell Howard is a festival first for MCF and we are somewhat excited about his “Dingledodies” tour which pulls into town Tuesday 21st October at the Opera House. Star of BBC 2’s “Mock the Week”, the hugely enthusiastic Russell will be a most welcome addition to this years festival.
Phew! It’s all shaping up rather nicely we think. Come October we’ll be spoilt for choice. News, line ups, ticket info and hilarious anecdotes will be online and delivered to your inbox (click here to sign up) as and when we remember.
Until then, we bid you farewell.
